Sarasota County Schools is Hiring a High School English Teacher Near Sarasota, FL
The following positions are available:
- English 6-12, teaching English 2 and AICE EGP 11th grade
- Intensive Reading (11/12th grades) and one section of Developmental Language for ESOL (Reading certified)
- ESE English 6-12, as a push-in co teacher with English 1 and 2 teachers
- ESE English 6-12, teaching AICE EGP and one section of Unique Skills
Educational Supplements upon conferral of advanced degree or advanced course credit:
- Bachelor’s 30 - $2,500
- Master’s - $5,000
- Master’s 45/Specialist - $7,500
- Doctorate - $10,000

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited educational institution
- Certification from the State of Florida in appropriate area
- Establish short and long-range goals based on student needs and District and state curriculum requirements
- Plan and prepare lessons and strategies which support the School Improvement Plan and District mission
- Plan and prepare instructional activities that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences
- Identify, select, and modify instructional materials to meet the needs of students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs
- Assist in assessing changing curricular needs and plans for improvement
- Maintain a positive, organized, and safe learning environment
- Manage time, materials, and equipment effectively
- Establish and maintain effective and efficient record keeping procedures
- Use effective student behavior management techniques
- Assist in enforcement of school rules, administrative regulations, and School Board policies
