Staump Music School, East County San Diego's oldest and most established music school, is seeking a dedicated Voice and Guitar Instructor to join our passionate team. With a rich history and commitment to musical education, we offer a unique opportunity for a skilled musician and educator to make a meaningful impact.

Position Overview:

  • Job Type: Employee (Not Private Contractor)
  • Pay Range: $20 - $50 per hour
  • Benefits: 401(k), Paid Vacations, Opportunity for Growth
  • Guaranteed Pay: Your pay is guaranteed for all lessons on your schedule, regardless of student attendance.
  • Minimum Hours Guaranteed: Monday - Friday, 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm
  • Work hours range between 3 to 8pm, Monday through Friday

Responsibilities:

  • Instruct and inspire students in voice and guitar, providing high-quality music education.
  • Foster a supportive and engaging learning environment.
  • Encourage musical creativity and growth in students of all ages.
  • Assess student progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly.
  • Collaborate with other team members to enhance the overall music education experience.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in both guitar and voice; proficiency in other instruments is optional but helpful.
  • Passion for music and teaching, with a desire to inspire students.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Dedication to continuous learning and personal growth.
  • Reliable and punctual work ethic.
  • Musicians with stage and or recording experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience teaching or working with kids of different ages.
  • Enthusiastic, flexible, patient, and positive demeanor
  • Must demonstrate an understanding of music concepts and be able to communicate those concepts effectively to students
  • Effective time management and organizational skills to keep students on task in a lesson
  • Good judgment when working with kids
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with a variety of personalities
  • Willingness to learn new skills and be flexible
  • Ability to interact effectively with children and adults
  • Must pass DOJ background and reference check.
