Position Overview

The Warehouse Supervisor is required to demonstrate leadership skills in the direction of warehouse control overseeing all logistics activities including warehouse maximization, productivity and inventory control, as well to ensure compliance with DOT regulations and company rules.

The Warehouse Supervisor will be responsible for maintaining, and directing the company’s transportation and distribution, in addition the Warehouse Supervisor will be responsible of the accuracy of daily inbound receipts in PLEX in tandem with Departmental procedures.

Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

Performs a variety of tasks. Leads and directs the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

Typically reports to the Warehouse / Traffic manager

Areas of Focus

Maintaining, and directing the company’s transportation and distribution, in addition the Warehouse Supervisor will be responsible of the accuracy of daily inbound receipts in PLEX in tandem with Departmental procedures.

Responsibilities Other duties may be assigned including the following :

• Promote safety awareness to employees by ensuring a safe work environment that exceeds Trojan’s and OSHA requirements and assuring that all operations follow all corporate policies and government regulations
• Ensure that all warehouse activities comply or exceed all applicable quality procedures and standards (e.g. ISO procedures, work instructions and SOPs)
• Ensure that all employees and vendors under the management of the warehouse department work safely and adhere to company safety policies and procedures
• In conjunction with the Warehouse Manager, ensures that shipments meet inventory and customer requirements
• Handles all day-to-day supervisory responsibilities for personnel related to Warehouse including training, work performance evaluation and disciplinary actions per company policy
• Identify and implement procedures to reduce transportation costs, eliminate waste, and improve overall efficiency for all the organization (e.

g. freight savings, appropriate mode of transportation, transportation routes, product configuration, on-time pick-up / delivery and complete shipments)

• Partners with Human Resources on recruitment and hiring per company policy
• Responsible for assuring offloading of inbound trailers / containers is done in a timely manner
• Responsible for assuring loading of time critical appointment schedules are met daily
• Direct and supervise departmental record and reporting systems, preparation of reports, and procedures implementation including computer reporting.

Assures system is utilized to fullest advantage to meet corporate objectives

• Assist other departments with the coordination of required transportation
• Ensures that all documentation is accurately prepared and provided to carriers by following all DOT, IATA and IMDG regulations
• Work closely, as needed, with customers on transportation issues and resolves issues in a timely manner
• Maintains accurate inventories of Raw Materials and Finished Goods within PLEX ERP System
• Responsible for investigation and reporting of freight claims to determine when damage occurred and coordinate action plans to resolve
• Utilize Supply Chain policy to ensure 99.3% order fulfillment rate (Perfect Order) and increase inventory turnover
• Schedule Warehouse manpower to support other plant departments and meet departmental monthly shipment requirements
• Ensure all equipment and areas are kept clean, free of obstructions, and organized at all times
• Ensure that all orders are staged at the dock accurately and in a timely manner to meet daily trucking schedules
• Essential communication with Brokers, Freight Forwarders and Carries is required
• Implement systems to track performance both of individual employees and of the overall department with regards to accuracy, timeliness and other measures assigned by Management
• Implementation, creations and updates of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) is required to ensure all warehouse processes are accurate
• Keep an open line of communication with buyers to ensure that raw material will be delivered on time
• Responsible for the management of the Transportation Management System (TMS)
• Support Traffic Supervisor by providing feedback, recommendations about carriers
• Follows quality system procedures
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Evaluates performance, provides feedback, and complete annual performance reviews
• Manage direct report timecard to comply with CA law and company policies

Associates degree in business administration (preferred) or other relevant field to the logistics industry or equivalent knowledge and experience such as Freight or Logistics courses / training (ex.

Global Logistic Specialist, etc.)

• A minimum of 5 years relevant experience in domestic and international transportation / distribution supervision and / or warehouse management
• Experience with TMS and ERP systems is required
• Must be able to provide effective leadership and motivation to the organization while building a teamwork environment
• Inclined to take charge and begin incremental improvement without waiting for an ultimate solution
• Must be able to stay focused on both the tactical and strategic missions
• Must have the highest standards of business and personal integrity, including a zero-tolerance attitude regarding vendor relations, with a high professional and ethical attitude

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business administration (preferred) or other relevant field to the logistics industry or equivalent knowledge and experience such as Freight or Logistics courses / training (ex.

Global Logistic Specialist, etc.)

• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Applications, especially Word and Excel
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• English, Good written and verbal communication skills are essential
• Bilingual Spanish preferred
