Job DescriptionWe are looking for a full-time Accountant with at least 3 years of experience with Residential Real Estate experience. The Accountant is responsible for the day to day accounting of real estate assets and work at our corporate office that is detail-oriented with strong computer skills and the ability to multi-task successfully with external and internal customers to ensure all financial objectives are achieved.The Accountant is generally responsible for closing the books and records for approximately 12 to 15 properties and all ancillary accounting related to these assets and will be responsible for managing all financial responsibilities for twenty-five apartments across sixteen communities utilizing cash and accrual accounting principles to prepare financial statements, prepare accurate and timely reports, and implement and maintain internal financial controls and procedures.Duties Review and post AP batches from sitesPost and issue security deposit refundsPerform a semi-monthly check run including EFT paymentsPrepares and review 1099’sPost and reconcile EFT loan payments with loan statementsReconcile bank statements for each residential propertyPrepare and distribute monthly financial statementsPrepare quarterly report for lendersAssist in HUD loan auditsAssist in preparing tax returnsImport budgets for residential propertiesProvide support to RPMD and site managersMaintains and creates YSL reportsUpdate or create spreadsheet reports to improve efficiency.Qualifications 3-5 years progressive accounting experience· Finance or Accounting degree preferred· Advance knowledge of accounting principles· Proficient with accounting software (Yardi Voyager and SAGE preferred)· Ability to exercise sound judgment regarding access to sensitive information· Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks while working in a fast-paced environment· Excellent oral and written communication skills· Ability to consistently follow-up with tenants, vendors, employees, and managementBachelor’s degree Salary $55,000 to $65,000Additional InformationAll your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
