Summary:

Performs patient specimen analysis for diagnostic purposes, under the supervision of a medical technologist or section leader.Enters all results into the computer system.Maintains laboratory inventory.Collects and processes specimens in blood bank, chemistry, hematology, microbiology, serology/immunology, phlebotomy, drug screen collections.

Required Education:

Associate degree in laboratory science, or chemical or biological science

OR

Equivalent education combination of training and education (Minimum educational or experience requirements may be modified on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of the Lab Director if minimal CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendment) requirements are met by the employee for the tasks being performed)

Required Certification:

Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician or Medical Laboratory Scientist by the ASCP or equivalent agency Preferred.
