Newa Technology Inc is Hiring a Mechanical Engineer Near San Mateo, CA

Job DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer to join our team and provide essential support for a building construction project. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing various aspects of mechanical engineering work, including participating in Owner-Architect-Contractor (OAC) meetings, reviewing submittals, drawings, and RFIs (Requests for Information), and providing on-site construction support (3-4days per week). The role requires strong technical knowledge, effective communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with diverse project stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
  • OAC Meetings:
    • Participate in regular Owner-Architect-Contractor meetings.
    • Provide technical input and updates on mechanical systems and progress.
    • Collaborate with project stakeholders to address and resolve issues.
  • Submittal Review:
    • Review and approve mechanical submittals to ensure compliance with project specifications.
    • Coordinate with suppliers and contractors to resolve discrepancies.
    • Maintain detailed records of submittals and approvals.
  • Drawing Review:
    • Review mechanical drawings and specifications for accuracy and completeness.
    • Identify and address potential design issues or conflicts.
    • Provide feedback and recommendations to the design team.
  • RFI Review:
    • Review and respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) related to mechanical systems.
    • Coordinate with design and construction teams to provide clear and accurate information.
    • Track RFIs and ensure timely responses to maintain project schedule.
  • Construction Support:
    • Provide on-site support during construction to ensure mechanical systems are installed correctly.
    • Conduct inspections and quality control checks of mechanical installations.
    • Assist in resolving on-site issues and coordinating with contractors.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on building construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and other mechanical systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
