Reports to : CEO

Salary Range : $66,560 - $68,000 (Depending on Experience and Skills)

Schedule of Hours : Monday Through Friday 8-4 and may include evening and weekend hours

Position Remote Eligible : Considered a primarily On-Site position. Some desk work can be done through work at home.

ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION Community Overcoming Relationship Abuse (CORA), is the only agency in San Mateo County providing crisis intervention and supportive services to survivors of domestic violence and their children, seeks a Facilities Site Supervisor to oversee facilities-related items and safety concerns for three major sites in San Mateo County.

POSITION SUMMARY This position serves as the main point of contact for all facilities-related items and safety concerns for four CORA facility sites in San Mateo County.

The Facility Site Supervisor oversees and performs routine repairs and preventative maintenance on building equipment and building systems efficiently and effectively and provides oversight of contractors / vendor technicians.

Supervision of the Maintenance Specialist staff member is provided by this position.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary point of contact for facilities-related items for four sites (main building including 2211 and 2205, Lisa’s House, Coni’s House and East Palo Alto office).

If CORA expands facilities, this position would incorporate these additions / changes.

  • Ensures facilities repairs and maintenance is attended to and completed in a timely manner. When appropriate, directly completes work orders, performing minor repairs, moving furniture, painting, replacing light bulbs, setting up conference rooms for special events and other facilities duties.
  • Responsible for submitting expenses and working with administrative supervisor on the monitoring of budget for facilities expenses and for allocating costs to appropriate revenue sources.
  • Responsible for sourcing and vetting vendors and skilled technicians. Makes recommendations for approval and hiring of vendors.

Primary staff responsible for supervision of facility related vendors and vendor supported systems including but not limited to ordering equipment, supplies, alarm system and janitorial team.

Responsible for Supervision of facilities staff including interim or other pt staff assigned to facilities work. Involved in hiring, retention, supervision of work and performance evaluations of these individuals.

Responsible for oversight of any volunteer activity assisting facilities.

  • Identifies, operates and performs routine repairs and preventative maintenance on building equipment and building systems for three major sites efficiently and effectively.
  • Responds to troubleshoot staff calls for facility needs and performs necessary repairs or adjustments as appropriate.
  • Responsible for the warehouse security and operations, including donations acceptance and disposals.
  • Responsible for updating the emergency response plan and performing all required fire drills and upkeep of fire extinguishers, for all properties and keeping the fire drill log updated as well as other safety-related procedures.
  • Responsible for the setup of equipment space for any CORA events held on CORA property or as part of a team for off-site events.
  • Performs miscellaneous facilities duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

  • 3 years minimum experience in hands on work in several of the following related areas : Painting, Minor electrical, plumbing, landscape maintenance, and general handyman construction / carpentry.
  • Microsoft office suite experience including outlook emails and calendaring preferred.
  • Familiarity with community-based services in San Mateo County preferred.
  • Other language skills related to community needs, such as Spanish, strongly preferred.
  • Completion of 40-hour domestic violence training. Candidates who have not completed the training will be provided this training by CORA.

WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to work under conditions such as heat, dust, and rain for prolonged periods and work in an environment that may require prolonged walking, stooping, bending, sitting, or walking in close space.

Additionally, must be able to assist in moving and transporting items such as sofas and chairs for facility, client needs.

  • Background check, including fingerprinting clearance from the Department of Justice; Demonstrate eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Valid CA driver’s license, access to reliable transportation, and insurance required. Willingness to travel to multiple sites within San Mateo County required.

MANDATED REPORTER STATUS This position is not subject to mandated reporting under California’s Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act (CANRA).

Such a report, including sharing information with another employee who is a mandated reporter position without following "release of confidential information" policies is a breach of confidentiality is a violation of state and federal law and can result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

CORA HISTORY and OVERVIEW : CORA has provided services to survivors of intimate partner abuse for nearly 46 years. Our Sites include Crisis Intervention Services, including a 24-hour hotline, collaboration with law enforcement, emergency shelter options, and supportive counseling.

Family Support Services provides mental health therapy, supportive / transitional housing, and a children’s Site. CORA has robust legal services for survivors of domestic violence and provides educational workshops about the dynamics of domestic violence and healthy relationship skills.
