Job Description
- Makes physical inspections and security checks of grounds and facility and documents results.
- Supervises Security Officers and coordinates with them to achieve tasks
- Reports fires and assists in suppressing fires.
- Investigates incidents on center and provides clear and accurate reports.
- Performs First-Aid and CPR as needed.
- Controls disturbances and assists staff in de-escalating volatile situations.
- Ensures students’ civil rights are not violated.
- Transports students as assigned.
- Demonstrates helpful, responsible, and caring attitude.
- Picks up and delivers material as directed.
- Performs routine vehicle inspections on GSA fleet.
- Reports vehicle repair needs to supervisor.
- Completes required security logs, documentation, and records accurately and on time.
- Maintains timely and accurate vehicle and transportation logs and records.
- Maintains timely and accurate student accountability
- Accurately logs employees, visitors, vendors and students as they enter and exit the center.
- Searches all students entering center for contraband.
- Searches others entering and exiting center as directed.
- Supervises students in isolation.
- Answers the phone in a timely manner.
- Ensures phone is used for official business only
QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, and individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. One-year security or law enforcement experience, or successful military experience preferred. Reasonable accommodations may be made to individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent
1-2 Year Experience RequiredSupervisory Experience Preferred
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:
Valid Driver’s License and good driving record. Commercial Driver’s License with Air Brake and Passenger endorsements is preferred
