Direct Placement: Full-time Permanent Position
The primary responsibilities of the Environmental Inspector include:
• Performing SWPPP inspections for projects with stormwater permit authorization
• Inspecting stockpiles, silt fences, etc., per CASQA guidance
• Reporting and documenting any noncompliance events and their resolution
• Managing your own schedule and communicating it clearly to the client and project manager
• Being responsible for meeting standards of quality and meeting internal deadlines
• Taking ownership of assignments and seeing them through to completion
• Implementing field assignments in accordance with health, safety and quality control requirements
• Maintaining professional image while interacting with clients
• Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college or university Degree in Civil Engineering, Geology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, or related field
• 40-hour HAZWOPER training and current 8-hour HAZOPWER refreshers
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Proficient in MS Word Office Suite Products
• Ability to travel to projects sites, as needed
• Detailed oriented with paperwork and submittals
• Correctly fill out a field note book, photography documentation, health and safety audit forms, etc.
• Attend and/or lead a health and safety daily meeting
• Collect soil and water samples, complete paperwork, and transport to a laboratory
• Ability to calibrate and operate field meters (e.g., pH) and record results
• Inspect stormwater best management practices (BMPs) and report findings
Salary: Negotiable, $80,000/year (DOE)
