Position : EHS Specialist II
Location : San Diego CA 92121
Duration : 6 Months contract with possible extension
Pay Rate : $28 / hr - $34 / hr (depending on experience)
Job Description :
- Onsite role : Monday Friday
- Shift : 7AM - 3 PM
- As the EHS Specialist II, you will prepare and / or assist in preparing policies and procedures in Environmental Health and Safety (EHS).
- You have knowledge in EHS Programs, including but not limited to, Powered Industrial Vehicles, Ergonomics, Training, Risk Assessment, and Emergency Response.
- Perform routine tasks with little instruction and supervision, and general instruction on new assignments.
- This position will work closely with both senior internal and external personnel.
- Conduct EHS walk through frequently including documentation and follow-up as needed.
- Complete monthly EHS reports
- Support incident investigations including near miss events, compliance issues, work-related injuries and / or illnesses.
- Support site's Ergonomics Program. Act as liaison to associates and others receiving or requesting ergonomic evaluations.
- Provide guidance on EHS Training Programs
- Review associate EHS Observations.
- Support the sites Hazardous Waste Program
- Maintain working knowledge of local, State and Federal Regulations that apply to our operations including but not limited to Federal OSHA, EPA and California Health and Safety Code.
Job Requirement :
- Minimum 3 years of related experience working in a warehouse, distribution center, or biotech or medical device manufacturing environment with safety and / or environmental responsibilities.
- Experience working around hazardous waste programs strongly preferred.
- Familiar with DHS, OSHA, EPA, RCRA, Air Quality, and Water Pollution regulations, preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to organize work and establish priorities.
- Effective customer service skills.
- Demonstrated ability to follow established policies and procedures.
- Effective problem-solving skills.
- Must be proficient working with PCs. Requires good command of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, e-mail and the Internet.
