If you are aiming to grow your career within supply chain and procurement, then our Procurement Analyst role will provide you with a fulfilling position responsible for overseeing the entire procurement process for medium to high-risk projects with oversight. You will coordinate with stakeholders and integrate their requirements into the sourcing and contracting process. You will work with teams to support the development and execution of contracts, change orders, and sourcing strategies that identify opportunities for operations efficiencies, drive cost savings, manage/mitigate risk, improve safety, drive innovation, and ensure the continuous development of project managed.

This is a Hybrid position based in San Diego, CA .

Responsibilities:

  • Meets with internal clients on a regular basis to understand client needs and to strengthen client relationships.
  • Advises clients in proper contract management and administration policies and procedures. Ensures client compliance with appropriate procurement policies and procedures, standards for ethical behavior, and accounting policies.
  • Maintains records to demonstrate that proper protocol was followed in the sourcing and contracting processes and in the implementation of the supplier relationship.
  • Evaluates supplier qualifications and identifies alternative suppliers. Leads contract negotiations and works closely with internal support organizations including Legal, Finance, Business Units and Insurance & Risk Management to mitigate risk and exposure for the company.
  • Interprets contractual obligations & positions, coordinates and manages conflict resolution with suppliers/contractors and stakeholders to drive resolution and formalizes outcome contractually.
  • Provides recommendation on the development and implementation of purchasing strategies for assigned projects. Analyzes internal spend data and market intelligence to strategically source needed services and materials. Establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with teams and suppliers to reduce overall costs.
  • Develops and manages supplier alliance opportunities. Resolves conflict between suppliers and company.
  • Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).
  • Travel to client sites as needed in support of the project manager (less than 10% travel is anticipated).
Qualifications:

We are seeking the following experience & qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, other related field, or equivalent training and/or experience.
  • 3 years of experience, preferably in procurement project management and/or category management, strategic sourcing, other procurement-related role, related analytical role, or through other materials and/or services purchasing experience.
  • Excellent supplier negotiation capabilities (experience managing procurement activities).
  • Capable of creating and negotiating most legal terms and conditions without the assistance of legal counsel.
  • Capable of reviewing & redlining statement of work documents to ensure responsibilities are clearly documented, acceptance criteria is present, deliverables are identified and tied to milestones, if applicable.
  • Ability to review contractual problems and propose innovative solutions.
  • Contract management skills, measuring and managing supplier performance.
  • Proficient at Microsoft Office programs (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Word).
  • Project management expertise in the utility industry is a huge plus.
  • Working understanding of utility and/or energy environments, operating procedures, and economics or regulation is a huge plus.
  • Deep commodity or domain expertise with assigned company projects, including but not limited to equipment, services (construction, Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC), professional, and technical), sourcing, and project management.
  • Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) is desired.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is desired.

The pay range for this California position is $68,000- $90,000.00 per year; however, base pay offered may be higher or lower depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience of the candidate. Restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. This information is provided per California Senate Bill 1162. Base pay information is based on market location. Applicants should apply via the NV5 careers site.
