Top rated specialty medical group in San Diego, CA. has an immediate opening for an experienced Medical Billing Specialist. Position is full cycle billing with insurance follow up.

Summary:

Job Title: Medical Billing Specialist

Job Type: Full time, long term

Schedule: Monday-Friday FLEX schedule 7:30am to 6:30pm

Pay rate: $20.00-$24.00/hour

Location: San Diego, CA (Mission Valley area)

*Knowledge and previous experience with Epic Billing software preferred*

Duties:

  • Environment is a business office setting
  • Business casual attire
  • Collect, post, and manage accounts
  • Responsible for submitting claims and following up with insurance companies
  • Communicating with patients and staff to provide a clear understanding of insurance benefits and eligibility, payment options, and patient financial responsibility.
  • Familiar with practice management systems
  • Ability to review EOB's and ensure the claim was paid in full
  • Experience reviewing patient demographics and correct updated information, rebill, submit appeals and bill secondary insurance and patient balance

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year Medical Billing and Collections
  • Excellent follow up skills and knowledge of commercial and managed care insurances.
  • EPIC knowledge is preferred
  • Ability to review EOB's and ensure the claim was paid in full.
  • Experience with Following up with insurance companies to check on status of claims.
  • Experience reviewing patient demographics and correct updated information, rebill, submit appeals and bill secondary insurance and patient balance.
