The Role: Software Engineering Manager

To continue delivering industry-leading technology, we seek an experienced Software Engineering Manager (REMOTE). In this role, you will be responsible for leading the architecture, design, development, delivery, and implementation of software solutions that support Ethos Risk Services core business and operations internally and externally with clients. This includes new products, major product enhancements, and maintenance of existing products.

The ideal candidate has a solid depth of knowledge in web application front-end and back-end development and best practices primarily using the Microsoft stack of technologies. 

Specifically, you will be responsible for the following:

• Develop a high-quality software product and accompanying system while ensuring their alignment with short-term and long-term objectives
• Lead and motivate the sprint teams within their domain to achieve software delivery outcomes that comply with business objectives
• Oversee all software development activities to drive desired results while maintaining consistency with the overall strategy and mission of the business
• Lead by example with high-quality code that includes unit tests
• Ensure repeatable, sound patterns and best practices are used consistently throughout Ethos' product delivery cycles; provide mentorship to team members in these practices
• Review team member contributions to the product suite and suggest improvements with a strong eye for security and pattern compliance
• Implement strategies to avoid code replication across the Ethos product suite
• Lead the refactoring of legacy code
• Operate with a "security first" approach to all software implementations/systems
• Ensure the product suite is highly performant by ensuring appropriate performance management practices are utilized during development
• Ensure QA is appropriately taken into account to guarantee high-quality deliverables
• Initiate and guide design discussions, SLDC processes, and code reviews
• Gain a strong understanding of all facets of the business / supporting applications and recommend technologies to increase coverage and efficiency

What you Need to Qualify:

• 5 years leading software development teams
• 10 years experience with C# and ASP.NET Webform
• 5 years and detailed knowledge of MS SQL Server, T-SQL, LINQ, Entity Framework
• 2 years working with ASP.NET MVC/WebAPI
• 2 years developing responsive web applications with a modern JS framework such as React, Angular, Vue.js
• Hands-on knowledge of CI/CD tooling (Azure DevOps), TFS, and/or GIT
• BS or higher in computer science, computer information systems, or a related degree. Equivalent experience will be considered

You'll Stand Out If You Have:

• Microsoft and/or security certifications

This is a remote work from home / virtual position with occasional need to travel for in-person meetings.
