Job Title Software Development Engineer in Test Summary of the role: Navitaire, an Amadeus company, are proven innovators in the travel industry shaping the way the world thinks about travel. This is a hybrid position and would require you to be in the local office 2-3 days a week. The Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) role within our Modernization program will specialize in designing test automation architecture, patterns, and practices that complement the evolution of our application architecture based on domain-driven patterns, using hexagonal architecture with a focus on event-driven, API-first, and security-first approaches. An ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience in designing and executing test strategies for such a modern system architecture with practical understanding of the different levels in a test pyramid, and how to build tests for them. They will be effective communicators, and strong collaborators that can work closely with different groups to drive quality and resiliency of a distributed system. What you’ll be doing: Write tests at all levels of the testing pyramid Assist software engineers in writing tests for their own code Own the end-to-end quality and test process Advocate for automated testing as a first-class activity in the dev ops process Implement BDD and TDD concepts as appropriate Work in a context of an Agile team Apply best practices in terms of automated testing Share the commitment to deliver quality working software on an agile cadence with aggressive targets around code deployment frequency and cycle time balanced with high quality and reliability. Help define and maintain KPIs around testing both before and after deployment to meet these goals. Coordinate with SDETs and QA leadership to develop and implement testing best practices.
