Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Billing Specialist to join our team. As a Billing Specialist, you will be responsible for accurately processing and managing medical billing and coding tasks. Your role will involve working with medical records, coding systems, and medical terminology to ensure accurate billing and timely reimbursement.
Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze medical records, ensuring proper coding and documentation
- Accurately assign ICD-10 codes to diagnoses and procedures
- Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies for reimbursement
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims, resolving any billing discrepancies or issues
- Process payments from insurance companies and patients, applying them to appropriate accounts
- Maintain accurate patient billing records and update patient information as needed
- Collaborate with medical office staff to ensure accurate and timely billing processes
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients regarding billing inquiries or concerns
- Stay up-to-date with industry changes in medical coding and billing practices
Experience:
- Proven experience as a Billing Specialist or similar role in a medical office setting
- Strong knowledge of medical coding systems (ICD-10,) and terminology
- Familiarity with medical collection processes and insurance claim submission
- Proficient in using billing software systems and electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in coding and documentation
- Strong analytical skills for reviewing medical records and identifying coding errors or discrepancies
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients
We offer competitive compensation based on experience.
Note: All positions must be paid, including internship positions.

Pay: $18.72 - $20.27 per hour
