Chandler Concrete Company is Hiring an Outside sales representative Near Salisbury, NC

Chandler Concrete Company is currently seeking to immediately hire an experienced Building Supply Sales Representative in Salisbury.

Primarily responsible for identifying, developing and maintaining a strategy to increase sales volume and overall market share within a specific geographic territory.

  • Duties and Responsibilities*
  • Represents Chandler Building Supply through Outside Sales
  • Works closely with other sales representatives to help develop a reasonable but aggressive sales forecast that will enable the company to reach its profit and market share goals.
  • Identifies, develops and maintains new and existing customers.
  • Evaluates bid opportunities to determine the most cost-effective response and proposal.
  • Works closely with operations to ensure customer volume demands can be met cost effectively and timely and to resolve issues when they arise.
  • Works closely with purchasing to determine the most cost-effective way to maintain profit margin objectives.
  • Meets with fellow sales representatives regularly to review short and long-term plans to meet sales, profit and market share objectives.
  • Analyzes and reviews sales and financial information to identify areas of opportunity and focus.
  • Handles customer questions, issues and concerns and seeks to resolve in the most cost effective and timely way possible.
  • Develops a personal long-term sales and marketing plan.
  • Prepares timely and accurate reports as requested.
  • Attends regular sales meetings to review performance and set plans.
  • Stays abreast of overall industry and market conditions and trends.
  • Communicates with operations on a timely basis of changes to quantities or delivery schedules.
  • Participates in local, state and national professional organizations.
  • Maintains current knowledge and skills of effective and new sales and marketing techniques.
  • Visits job sites regularly to receive customer feedback and ensure customer specifications are being met.
  • Meets with key customers regularly to get feedback and learn of new opportunities.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications*
  • HS Diploma required. Additional training / education in business, marketing, sales or construction-related curriculum preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of sales experience preferred with P / L responsibility. At least 5 years in construction or related industry experience preferred.
  • Minimum of two years supervisory experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop new accounts.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop a sales plan.
  • Demonstrated effective communications both written and oral.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with personal computers and spreadsheet software.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

  • Frequent periods of sitting in vehicle.
  • Frequent periods of standing and walking on even / uneven, wet / dry surfaces.

  • Occasional / frequent reaching, grabbing, pushing and pulling.
  • Ability to distinguish colors.
  • Environmental Conditions (PPE is provided) *
  • Majority of job duties are performed outdoors.
  • Occasional / frequent exposure to extremes in temperature, moisture, dust and noise.
  • Occasional / frequent exposure to uneven and wet surfaces.
  • Occasional / frequent exposure to chemicals, water, cement, and additives.
