Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Equipment Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in operating a variety of heavy equipment to support construction projects.

BASIC FUNCTION:

Under immediate supervision, performs skilled work in operating a limited variety of general hauling, construction, and maintenance equipment in the construction and reconstruction of water and wastewater infrastructure and facilities. Equipment operation includes, backhoe, trackhoe, skid loader, telehandler, roller and grader. This position will perform laborer work when not operating equipment.

Reports to the site Superintendent. Position does not supervise any other employees.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Checks and fuels vehicles and performs light mechanical adjustments and assists mechanic in performing repairs on assigned equipment.

2. May drive dump and water trucks.

3. Spread gravel and rock using graders.

4. Excavate trenches for concrete foundations and pipe ditches.

5. Make and grade road shoulders, shape ditches, and install culverts using grader.

6. Perform various manual tasks involved in construction and reconstruction of buildings/sites.

7. Performs other related duties as may be assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

1. Ability to safely operate and perform minor repairs and preventative maintenance on heavy equipment.

2. Ability to understand and carry out routine instructions to follow grades and elevations.

3. Ability to maintain effective working relationships with other employees.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week

Experience:

• Heavy equipment operation: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• CDL A (Preferred)

Ability to Commute:

• Salisbury, MD (Required)

Ability to Relocate:

• Salisbury, MD: Relocate before starting work (Required)
