Seneca Family of Agencies is Hiring a Quality Assurance Manager Near Salinas, CA

Overview

The primary responsibility of the Quality Assurance (QA) Manager is to supervise Health Information Specialists (HIS), oversee billing, and aid in maintaining quality assurance for their assigned counties. This candidate will have a high level of organizational and analytical skills, be able to prioritize projects, be willing to develop new procedures as required to improve the overall quality of the department, have strong computer skills and good communication skills, and be a positive team player. 

**The Central Coast Quality Assurance Manager will oversee Seneca's three Central Coast locations: Salinas, Hollister, Atascadero. The QA Manager may be based out of one of these locations, and occasional travel will be required to the other two locations**

Responsibilities

  • Supervise Health Information Specialists (HIS) within assigned program types and/or regions. This includes:
    • Coordinate with program supervisor to monitor professional development.
    • Monitor workload and capacity.
    • Collaborate with leadership on team structure.
  • Oversee all billing information system entries for assigned programs/counties.
  • Monitor and develop documentation related processes for assigned programs.
  • Distribute documentation and billing information to various departments within Seneca as well as outside agencies.
  • Function as a Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) privacy lead at each site within assigned region(s), including ensuring HIPAA related procedures are followed.
  • Communicate with contracting partners to troubleshoot system errors or billing discrepancies.
  • Attend meetings and trainings facilitated by Central QA, Program Leadership, and contracting parties.
  • Participate in preparation for audits (county, state, etc.) and support implementation of corrective action plans, when applicable.
  • Serve as a liaison between programs and QA to communicate compliance-related changes to documentation.
  • Create and maintain regional QA documents and manuals.
  • Travel to various sites for QA supervision and support as needed.
  • Provide support, coaching, and training for new HIS.
  • Support programs that have a HIS vacancy.

Qualifications

  • Education/experience requirements:
    • Bachelor’s degree 1 year of applicable work experience OR
    • Associate degree or equivalent 2 years of applicable work experience OR
    • High school diploma/GED at least 3 years of applicable work experience.
    • Applicable work experience includes any administrative experience (paid or unpaid) involving frequent data entry, prioritizing projects with strict deadlines, and working cross-functionally with other departments.
  • Previous experience in a similar position required.
  • Previous experience as a Seneca HIS preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel preferred.
  • Experience managing Electronic Health Records.
  • Ability to prioritize projects, manage deadlines, and problem-solve.
  • Ability to structure and perform routine tasks.
  • Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and any other state/federal licensing or certification requirements.
  • Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and insurability through Seneca Family of Agencies’ insurance policy.
  • Proof of up-to-date COVID-19 vaccination or an HR-approved medical/religious exemption.

Schedule

  • Full-time, 100% on-site
  • Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
  • Occasional travel to Seneca Central Coast programs (listed below) will be required for this role
    • Salinas
    • Atascadero
    • Hollister

  • Starting salary: $76,249 - $90,249 annually.
    • Actual salary is dependent on creditable experience above the minimum qualifications for the role.
