About the Employer

The Salinas Union High School District is one of the largest high school districts in Northern California. We currently serve 16,000 students in grades 7th to 12th at our twelve (12) school sites and another 2,000 adult students at our adult education center.

Job Summary

Under general supervision, operate a school bus or other passenger vehicle over designated routes within an established time schedule;

perform daily and weekly inspections of a bus or transportation equipment; perform simple bus maintenance, as required; and perform other related work as required.

High school graduate or equivalent. Valid Class B License, First Aid Certificate, CA Motor Vehicle Operators license, acceptable driving record, and Possession of School Bus Drivers Certificate by CA Highway Patrol must be attached to the application.

One (1) year experience in transporting students or satisfactory completion of a formal classroom and behind-the-wheel training program by the California Highway Patrol for the operation of a school bus. TB test required.

All applicants Must attach proof of valid California A or B Driver's License and school bus endorsement, without air-break restrictions and a printed copy of their driving record from the DMV *Applicants MUST attach a Letter of Interest / Cover Letter, resume, and high school diploma to the application.
