Reports to: Manufacturing Manager

Summary: The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the smooth functioning of all mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems within the manufacturing facility. This role requires hands-on work and expertise, playing a pivotal role in ensuring maximum safety, productivity, and uptime of the manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Proficiency:

• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues swiftly and accurately.
• Provide hands-on repairs and maintenance when necessary.
• Supervise and, if necessary, perform preventive and corrective maintenance tasks.

Leadership:

• Act as a working supervisor, leading by example and participating hands-on in maintenance tasks.
• Train and mentor maintenance staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Ensure the team is adequately staffed, equipped, and motivated to carry out their tasks efficiently.

TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) System:

• Lead the implementation and execution of the TPM system.
• Regularly review and ensure compliance with the TPM standards and practices.
• Coordinate TPM training sessions and workshops for the maintenance team and other relevant staff.

Safety & Productivity:

• Monitor manufacturing operations to ensure maximum safety and productivity.
• Implement safety protocols and ensure that they are adhered to by all staff.
• Proactively identify areas of potential downtime and take preventive actions.

Reporting:

• Maintain records of maintenance tasks, breakdowns, repairs, and uptime metrics.
• Regularly report to the Manufacturing Supervisor on equipment status, challenges, and recommendations.
• Provide insights on potential improvements or investments in equipment or processes.

Continuous Improvement:

• Stay updated with the latest best practices in maintenance management and technologies.
• Collaborate with other departments to understand their challenges and proactively address them.
• Recommend new tools, equipment, or methodologies to improve efficiency.

Requirements

Competencies and Attributes Needed:

• Deep knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
• Proficient in working with pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks.
• Proven experience in implementing and overseeing TPM systems.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Physical Requirements:

• Sit, stand, climb stairs daily
• Lift at least 25 pounds infrequently
