Required Travel : 50%

Position Type : Hourly Full-Time

Hourly Rate : $21.50

MERS / Missouri Goodwill Industries is looking for an energetic, self-motivated and professional Retail Assistant Manager to join our Lake St.

Louis Store team! The ideal candidate will support our mission, "Changing Lives Through the Power of Work!" and embody our core values of respect, excellence and integrity.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma / GED required; some college preferred.
  • One year of Management experience Previous Goodwill Retail / Warehouse Experience Preferred.
  • Valid MO or IL state driver’s license and insurance. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including customer service, conflict resolution, and teamwork.
  • Comfortable with workplace technology like registers, scheduling, and inventory management software.

Primary Duties / Responsibilities

  • Assists Store Manager in overseeing store operations, resources, and budgets to ensure all goals and benchmarks are met or exceeded.
  • Model core values to uphold a culture with an understanding and commitment to safety, ethics, and quality within the store.
  • Supervise, direct, and train assigned staff and ensure they perform their essential / primary functions.
  • Provide superior internal and external customer service to ensure repeat donors, shoppers, and staff retention and de-escalate customer dissatisfaction quickly and effectively.
  • Coach and counsel employees about the performance of their job duties, including discipline up to and including termination.
  • Exercise independent judgment in assigning daily job duties to achieve daily operational tasks.
  • Helps to identify and recommend employees with proven performance for advancement.
  • Safeguards company property and personal information from harm, damage, or theft. Reports any theft, misappropriation, unethical / inappropriate behavior, or unauthorized possession of company property to a member of management, Human Resources, or Loss Prevention.
  • Must read, follow, model, and enforce all agency policies, procedures, and values.
  • Utilizes efficient staffing methods to ensure the store is staffed appropriately. Arranges for replacements of absent employees when necessary.

Audits, edits, and approves payroll.

  • Eliminates wasteful practices through process improvement.
  • Maintains a professional appearance, adhering to MERS Goodwill’s dress code.
  • Other duties as assigned.
