Job Summary:

As a part of God’s mission, the content writer contributes to the content team, writing and editing projects that support the overall production goals of US Ministries helping bring Christ to the nations and the nations to the Church.

Major Responsibilities:

1. Write both long and short form content as assigned (i.e., scripts, social media content, blogs, courses, Project Connect booklets)
2. Coordinate blogs for various ministry programs (i.e., Thred, Hopeful Neighborhood Project), to include corresponding with freelance writers, editing to maintain unique program voice, handling contracts/invoices, etc.
3. Copyedit internal and external writers to ensure proper language, grammar, and usage (in agreement with the LHM style guide) and alignment with the doctrinal review process.
4. Collaborate with various teams during the production of written and broadcast materials.
5. Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

• Exemplary writing and editing skills
• Possess creativity and an 'original voice'
• Strong research and organizational skills
• Able to work collaboratively on team projects
• Committed and practicing Christian
• BA in Journalism, Communication, Marketing or English desired

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with SEO
• Experience researching and writing for non-print projects (video, podcast, social media, etc.)
• Member of a Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod congregation, with a good understanding of LCMS theology

Location: Our office is located in St. Louis, but LHM offers flexible work arrangements, including remote.
