Quanex is looking for an Engineering Manager to join our team located in St. Cloud, Minnesota OR Mounds View, MN.

As the Engineering Manager, you can expect to lead engineering projects focused on new equipment design, existing equipment modification and enhancement, equipment testing, and project documentation. You’ll supervise and have overall responsibility for manufacturing engineering and will partner closely with Product Engineering, Maintenance, Operations, and outside equipment manufacturers to ensure new equipment development projects are successful.

What Success Looks Like: Supervises and provides direction on the day-to-day activities of manufacturing engineering.

• Manage total project activities with a planned schedule for timely completion.
• Manage and present design proposals for discussion and evaluation with stakeholders.
• Prepares RFEs for engineering tools and equipment needed for execution of projects.
• Directs the preparation, execution and release of Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), and the maintenance of engineering system documentation.
• Evaluates cost recommendations concerning project level design activity and equipment/tooling projects.
• Recommends replacement of existing equipment to include specifying requirements and recommending vendors.
• Assures that the design and specifications, construction and debugging of new tooling/processes/equipment are consistent with requirements, industry specifications, OSHA/safety, cost justifications, and time constraints.
• Recommends the tooling, labor, and set up estimates for new equipment and revisions for existing equipment.
• Experience working in / supporting a manufacturing organization.
• Ability to travel occasionally.
• Ability to lift up to 10 lbs. at a time and able to sit for prolonged periods of time at a desk and working on a computer.

What You Bring:

• Bachelor of Science Degree in an engineering field.
• 5 years of related experience.
• Experience with supplier negotiations strongly preferred.
• Management and/or project leadership experience required.

The targeted salary range for this position is $90K to $120K plus potential to earn an annual bonus.
