Position Details
- B.A. / B.S. in Music Education
- Major in Instrumental music
- State of Michigan Certification
- Teach secondary / middle school instrumental music (6th-12th grade band)
- Director of Marching Band, Drumline, Winterguard, Concert Band, Jazz Band, etc.
- Demonstrate effective classroom management practices
- Hold high expectations for student achievement
- Evaluate student progress and prepare reports that detail progress
- Willing to attend conferences and participate in professional development
- Ability to plan, organize, and possess strong communication skills
- Be willing to serve as an advisor, and assist with District CAPA productions (if music is warranted)
- Possess a positive attitude, strong work ethic, self-motivated, team-oriented and willing to work with students, parents, staff, community members, and Music Boosters organization
- Other duties as assigned by the building principal or the Superintendent of schools.
