- Cloud Services Management: Overseeing the day-to-day operations of cloud environments, which may include services across different models, such as Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS)
- Automation Implementation: The Cloud and Automation Engineer will be developing and implementing automation scripts and tools to streamline IT processes, such as automated provisioning, configuration management, and deployment of servers, applications, and services
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Using code-based tools such as AWS CloudFormation, or Azure Resource Manager templates to manage and provision cloud resources in a repeatable and consistent manner
- Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD): Setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines to enable automated testing and deployment of applications and infrastructure changes
- Monitoring and Optimization: Implementing monitoring solutions for cloud resources and applications to ensure performance, availability, and cost efficiency; This also involves analyzing usage patterns and optimizing resources to reduce costs
- Security Compliance: Ensuring that cloud deployments comply with organizational security policies and best practices, including managing identity and access controls, encryption, and incident response
- Troubleshooting and Support: The Cloud and Automation Engineer will be providing technical support for cloud-related issues, troubleshooting complex problems, and working with cloud service providers when necessary
- Disaster Recovery and Backup: Implementing and testing cloud-based disaster recovery and backup procedures to ensure data integrity and availability in the event of an incident
- Bachelor's degree in an IT-related or Engineering Field; Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis
- Cybersecurity Architect Expert certification from Microsoft
- 8 years of experience aligning IT systems with organizational business processes
- 5 years of that experience must have been in a lead capacity
