WSP is currently recruiting a Geotechnical Engineer for geotechnical engineering work to be based in our Durham, NC office. This individual will be part of our Ground Engineering & Materials team that supports Energy, Industrial, Commercial, and Transportation Sector clients locally and across the southeast. This position will at times require significant time in the field, away from the office. Field responsibilities may include observation of subsurface investigations such as logging boreholes and other typical in-situ testing techniques, or observation of various geotechnical construction activities such as: general grading, installation of shallow and deep foundations, instrumentation installation and monitoring, soil-retaining structures, and soil-improvement. The position will include inspection, observation, and testing of construction materials (soil, rock, and concrete) in the field and laboratory. The candidate should feel comfortable interacting with clients, construction personnel, and sub-contractors as a professional representative of WSP.
