Title : Stability Resource Specialist

Location : Shoreline, WA

Work schedule : Full time, 40 hours / week, M-F 8 : 30am-5pm, (Hybrid) Some in-person onsite work with remote work from home schedule opportunities after initial in-person training.

Wednesdays and Thursdays onsite.

Who we are : Hopelink is the largest nonprofit in North and East King County. For over 50 years we have been in the community serving homeless and low-income families, children, seniors, and people with disabilities.

The career opportunity :

The Stability Resource Specialist (SRS) engages with a wide diversity of clients one-on-one to discuss emergent needs and partner with clients to work toward stability.

The SRS assesses client eligibility for a variety of resources and services; prepares applications for financial assistance;

and provides short-term navigation, support, and advocacy as requested.

  • Office skills such as attention to detail, organization, precision.
  • Interpersonal skills such as compassion, empathy, and the ability to remain calm in tense or difficult situations.
  • Must be comfortable working with families / individuals experiencing active trauma such as unemployment, mental illness, domestic violence, and homelessness.
  • Intermediate level proficiency in MS Office suite including Word, Excel, Outlook and data systems.
  • Introductory knowledge of human services.
  • Ability to work in a team and independently.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and effective decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with and provide services to a diverse population.
  • Bi-lingual applicants are strongly encouraged to apply, especially those with Spanish, Russian, or Amharic language proficiency;

Members of BIPOC (black, indigenous, people of color) communities, or people who have personal experience in historically marginalized and excluded communities are especially encouraged to apply.

Examples of what you will be doing :

  • Engage with families / individuals coping with financial instability and unexpected hardships.
  • Evaluate client needs, provide relevant community resources, and assist in accessing resources.
  • Completes a high volume of Food Market enrollments.
  • Develop and maintain a strong knowledge of available services both within Hopelink and in the larger community to provide helpful referrals.
  • Work collaboratively with clients to set goals and develop action plans.
  • Support individual / family financial health by facilitating the creation of budgets, financial literacy education, credit pulls, and by addressing barriers to stability.
  • Serve as client advocate to third parties such as landlords, government agencies, third party service providers, and school districts.

  • Compensation : $23.40 / hour
  • Up to 10 paid vacation and sick days annually and 10 paid holidays,
