Shipping & Receiving Clerk
Automation Personnel Services is looking for a Shipping & Receiving Clerk for a large and growing company based in Selma , AL .
If you are looking for a career. This is the job for you! In this role, you will have the opportunity to schedule carriers, managing / creating shipping requests, orders leaving the warehouse and cost of shipping.
Relaying / creating work orders, picking tickets, packing slips, bills of lading, shipping reports and export documents.
Receiving all raw materials & supplies. The job duties described herein are not exhaustive and may be subject to change.
Pay Rate
$ 17 .00 per hour
Schedule and Hours
Monday through Friday, 8 : 00 am to 4 : 30 pm.
Shipping & Receiving Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure all inbound and outbound shipments meet customer and company standards.
- Thoroughly document and keep track of work in an organized manner.
- Transport materials to designated locations within the facility, maintaining inventory accuracy and organization.
- Responsible for relaying shipping information to the customers, freight carriers, accounts payable, inside sales and management team.
- Provide daily updates to production control on shipping status of orders.
- Ensure all orders status notes on the load schedule are accurate and notify sales of discrepancies.
- Daily order pickup from production control.
- Responsible for scheduling all carriers.
- Completing export shipping to all carriers.
- Perform duties of Shipping Manager / Accounts Payable / Invoicing in absence.
- Responsible for accurately logging all deliveries.
- Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
Shipping & Receiving Clerk Qualifications and Requirements
- Must learn to be familiar with the needs of the customers to provide effective, customized services.
- Professional telephone and face-to-face contact with all customers and team members.
- Attention to details.
- Maintain confidentiality in daily operations.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment .
- Ability to solve practical problems.
- Solid analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
- Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
- Must be able to have knowledge of computer skills, Forklift, Overhead crane, Hand Dolly, etc.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Must be able to lift to 50 lbs. (Lifting Assessment to be given in office)
- Drug screen and background check required.
