Great Lakes Optometry is seeking an outstanding compassionate person with a strong customer service background and desire to make our patients happy. You must love working with people and be genuinely positive and enthusiastic. We will train the necessary eye care skills if you already have the customer service experience. You must be committed providing legendary customer service.
Primary Role:
Optometric Technician
Main responsibilities include:
· Perform optometric technician duties (taking visual acuity, using some technical equipment)
· Delivering an amazing visit experience for all patients
· Completing patient workups
· Chart preparation
· Scribing
· Understanding medical terminology
· Answering telephones, scheduling appointments, and verifying patient insurance
· Contact lens fitting and training
· Special testing (visual field, OCT, photography)
· Caring for the clinical area
· Ordering, verifying, adjusting, and repairing eyeglasses
· Working with medical and optical insurance
All Team members are expected to be flexible so other responsibilities may include:
· Answering telephones, scheduling appointments, and verifying patient insurance
· Assisting patients with frame and lens selection
· Educating patients on contact lens care
· Ordering, verifying, adjusting, and repairing eyeglasses
· Processing orders, managing inventory, and other administrative work
· Working with medical and optical insurance

Minimum Qualifications:
· Be courteous and display strong communication and interpersonal skills
· Demonstrate basic computer skills and multi-tasking abilities
· Be motivated, dependable and able to deliver an exceptional patient experience
· Previous experience in a medical office preferred but not required
