Peoples Development Services is looking for a housing specialist to join and lead our new housing coordination program.

Duties & Responsibilities Include:

• Complete All Intakes & Housing Focused Centered Plan
• Work with clients Housing Goals and Objectives on a weekly basis
• Assist clients in locating suitable housing in the community
• Identify possible barriers in the client’s life which may impact their ability to maintain permanent housing stability.
• Maintain weekly contacts with clients to go over progress, problems, and plans.
• Help clients with housing transition and housing sustaining
• Assist client to meet with landlords, completing all applications, and submitting required verifications.
• Work with up to 15-20 clients with histories of homelessness, mental health and physical disabilities.

Education & Experience Requirement:

• 2 year Associates degree in Human Services, or related field with at least two years of experience working with homelessness population and case management.
• Must have a good knowledge of housing resources including subsidized programs, shelter, and all government-funded housing.
• Experience working with diverse populations: including people with physical/developmental disability, mental health, and substance abuse backgrounds.
• Ability to manage time effectively
• Must have proof of Valid Driver's license and car insurance.
• Language: English, Spanish, Somali, Oromo are preferred but not required.

Compensation:

• Hourly Pay of $19-$23 depending on experience & education.
