CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  1. New employees of the Department of Military Affairs will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
  2. New employees of the Department of Military Affairs are required to participate in a direct deposit/electronic transfer program. 
  3. The Department of Military Affairs is paid on a monthly basis.
  4. This position is a Cooperative Agreement position.
  5. As a CANDIDATE, you are required to provide documentation (i.e., High School Diploma or Equivalency, College Transcripts, ETC.) to verify meeting these Minimum Qualifications.
  6. Must be able to obtain a completion of a favorable National Agency Check background investigation clearance.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • An Associate's Degree from an accredited College or University with major coursework in Accounting, Finance, or related field AND One (1) year of professional experience in Accounting, Finance, or related field; OR
  • A High School Diploma AND Three (3) years of professional experience in Accounting, Finance, or related field

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Processes invoices, purchasing card transactions, and travel reimbursement for payment on all assigned agreements. This includes researching payment status and requisition reconciliation.
  • Balances, on a monthly basis, QuickBooks program with Florida Accounting and Information Resource (FLAIR) reports.
  • Prepares SF270 (Request for Reimbursement) documents on all assigned agreements on as needed basis.
  • Attends quarterly reviews on all assigned agreements.
  • Prepares extension memos; liability lists, and any other documentation as required by agreement and/or USPFO.
  • Back up to the Accountant II’s to include Travel and SAD.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

  • Knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of the methods of data collection.
  • Ability to determine work priorities, assigns work, and ensures proper completion of work assignments.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Ability to prepare financial statements and reports.
  • Ability to design and implement accounting systems.
  • Ability to prepare and maintain a variety of accounting records.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret accounting data.
  • Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures relating to an accounting program.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to solve problems and make decisions.
