Responsibilities

This position is responsible for ensuring the efficient and timely delivery and pick-up of blood and blood products by managing the workflow, man-hours and ensuring driver productivity.

  • Monitors schedules, vehicles, dispatches drivers and directs deliveries.
  • Coordinates staff and operations to meet delivery parameters on all shipments.
  • Assists mobile drives to ensure drive start and breakdown are completed as scheduled.
  • Maintains fleet and mobile equipment, communicating DVIR’s, coordinating with mechanic shops and towing providers.
  • Manages safety compliance by ensuring accidents forms are completed and reported in a timely manner.
  • Maintains and reviews records and documents including spreadsheets and drivers’ paperwork.
  • Monitors and documents employee activity to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Resolves customer service issues by partnering with internal services to develop and implement a satisfactory solution.
  • Manages communications between the business unit and drivers by operating and maintaining Dispatch base phone and manages driver phone equipment.
  • Monitors and reports on radio communications from the NYC Office of Emergency Management.

Qualifications

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

Three years of experience in directing staff, office management or dispatcher is required.

Knowledge:

Knowledge of DOT regulations.

Knowledge of computerized and mobile communication systems.

For applicants who will perform this position in New York City or Westchester County, the proposed hourly salary is $28.00/hr. to $30.00/hr. For applicants who will perform this position outside of New York City or Westchester County, salary will reflect local market rates and be commensurate with the applicant’s skills, job-related knowledge, and experience.
