Position Summary
The primary purpose of the Resident Assessment Coordinator position is to assist the Director of Resident Assessment with the day-to-day business of the Pavilion. This position is responsible for completing MDS assessments and coordinating the MDS process with the Pavilion Interdisciplinary Team. The Resident Assessment Coordinator will assume the responsibilities of the Director of Resident Assessment in their absence. As a member of the organization, it is important that the Resident Assessment Coordinator works in close partnership with the Director of Resident Assessment, Director of Nursing, Pavilion Administrator, and other disciplines across the campus for the long-term, strategic growth of the organization and its mission.
Knowledge & Skills
· Comprehensive knowledge of Medicare Skilled Care Guidelines.
· Must possess a current NYS Licensure to practice as a RN.
· Must possess the ability to work with others in the organization.
· Must display patience, tact, enthusiasm, and a cheerful deposition.
· Must have knowledge of basic nursing care techniques.
· Must have computer literacy and ability to train effectively on new patient care systems.
· Must be able to relate information concerning a resident’s condition.
· Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
· Must be willing to learn new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing nursing practices.
Must possess strong leadership skills
