GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
The Loan Officer Trainee trains to assume loan officer responsibilities by performing the functions of the various positions in the Bank's lending-related areas. This position performs lending-related projects as they are assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Performs the functions of various positions within the bank for training purposes such as the following: Credit analysis, Appraisal review, Inspections, Loan operations, Collections.
2. Directly assists assigned Loan Officer.
3. Attend various lending and compliance training sessions as assigned.
4. Interview loan applicants, collecting financial and related data.
5. Analyze financial and related data for use in determining creditworthiness.
6. Prepare Loan Offering Memos, Modifications, and all supporting material, then present orally to individuals and committees.
7. Work past-due accounts assigned.
8. Make joint calls on potential or existing customers with experienced loan officers.
9. Originate loans with approval of supervisor.
10. Perform and document collateral inspections, prepare file notes.
11. Attend all Officers Loan Committee meetings.
12. Assist the Senior Lending Officer with Board and other management reports as needed.
13. Clear new and existing credit and collateral exceptions for assigned lender(s).
14. Completes required BSA/AML training and other compliance training as assigned.
15. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
16. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Broad knowledge of such fields as accounting, marketing, business administration, finance, etc. Equivalent to a four year college degree, plus 2 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and policy/procedure manuals; Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS
Ability to utilize common sense understanding in order to carry out written, oral or diagrammed instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving several known variables in situations of a routine nature.

-College graduate with degree in business, finance, accounting, or economics or a minimum of 2 years banking experience with demonstrated knowledge of basic principals of accounting, finance, and economics.
