The Regional Director of Clinical Operations (RDCO) establishes, implements, and evaluates goals and objectives for hospice services that meet and promote the standards of quality and contribute to the total organization and philosophy. The RDCO directs the Director of Nursing (DON) in each office regarding the operation of the nursing department; management of nursing activities, formulation of program goals and objectives; development and review of related policy; interpretation and administration of pertinent laws; preparation of the nursing budget. The RDCO maintains contact with individuals who might impact program activities; assures the optimal quality of care is provided in a safe environment; intervenes in crisis situations and investigates all unusual incidents; protects human and civil rights of patients and/or clients and staff; compiles data and prepares periodic nursing reports.
