HOMESTEAD HOSPICE is Hiring a Regional Director of Clinical Operations Near Roswell, GA

Job Summary:

The Regional Director of Clinical Operations (RDCO) establishes, implements, and evaluates goals and objectives for hospice services that meet and promote the standards of quality and contribute to the total organization and philosophy. The RDCO directs the Director of Nursing (DON) in each office regarding the operation of the nursing department; management of nursing activities, formulation of program goals and objectives; development and review of related policy; interpretation and administration of pertinent laws; preparation of the nursing budget. The RDCO maintains contact with individuals who might impact program activities; assures the optimal quality of care is provided in a safe environment; intervenes in crisis situations and investigates all unusual incidents; protects human and civil rights of patients and/or clients and staff; compiles data and prepares periodic nursing reports.

Qualifications:

  1. A degree in nursing with at least 7 years of experience in the field.
  2. A minimum of at least 2 years in a hospice clinical supervisory role.
  3. Knowledge of hospice clinical concepts, practices, and procedures.
  4. Word processing and database experience required.
  5. Ability to exchange routine information in an appropriate manner.
  6. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  7. This role is 80% travel.
  8. Territories include the following: 
    • Newnan, GA
    • Tifton, GA
    • Augusta, GA
    • Pooler, GA
    • Jackson, GA
    • Roswell, GA

Responsibilities:

  1. Develops operating policies and procedures for the Clinical Care team. Directs the DON’s in day-to-day operations, activities, and successes of the patient care staff, as governed by policy, regulation, and law.
  2. Develops staffing model and budget with COO for all office locations. Oversees DON staff hiring decisions, performance improvement plans, and terminations.
  3. Provides oversight and direction of all clinical operations for new and existing offices, which include: Initial orientation and training as well as continued education and training for existing clinical staff and provides oversight and evaluation of clinical practice measurement and outcome for nursing thru periodic scheduled on-site visits, phone conferences and/or visual conferences.
  4. Ensures compliance with laws and rules related to care, certification, and licensing; professionally represents Creative Hospice Care Inc. dba Homestead Hospice to residents, residents’ families, outside agencies, care providers, and the public.
  5. Develops and maintains a nursing service philosophy and related rules, standards, and practices; establishes systems for care planning, including assessments, plans of treatment, objectives and goals, evaluations, and discharge planning.
  6. Maintains liaison role with all levels of administration, physicians, and outside organizations to coordinate clinic business, accomplish directives, and to facilitate the resolution of problems.
  7. Collaborates with service vendors to ensure billing accuracy and cost-effectiveness.
  8. Provides oversight and directions in establishing and maintaining a system for developing, reviewing, approving, and disseminating standards of clinical practice. Provides oversight and direction to the clinical service units and provides oversight and evaluation to clinical practice measurement and outcomes for nursing.
  9. Direct quality improvement programs and ensures implementation of programs in each office.
  10. Assure effective communication and coordination of clinical practice initiatives among the various councils of the nursing infrastructure and other hospital medical stall committees, councils, and workgroups.
  11. Assures appropriate organizational membership.
  12. Participates in community education of hospice clinical practices to assist the company in growing referrals.
  13. Represents nursing service issues at board meetings.
  14. Provide assistance with other projects as delegated by the COO.
  15. Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
