County Educators Federal Credit Union is Hiring a Lending Manager Near Roselle, NJ

SUMMARY

The Lending Manager will be responsible for providing leadership to the Financial Institution team on all Credit decisions focusing on all areas of our lending. The incumbent will also supervise and develop staff, make credit and lending decisions, and perform credit monitoring.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Serve as principal advisor to CEO, and board of directors on all issues associated with lending strategies, and credit risk management.

2. Strategically setting guidelines and policy relating to the accurate and timely servicing of the institution’s loan portfolios, including the production of loan documentation; proper funding and closing processes and loan servicing.

3. Lead efforts with executive management to develop and implement appropriate lending products and services.

4. Maximize portfolio growth through effective planning, development, and implementation of lending strategies.

5. Review existing and new client relationships for credit quality, structure and pricing.

6. Ensure overall soundness of loan portfolio, with the ability to identify and develop long term strategies that will include initiatives such as portfolio mix, growth strategies, and market penetration objectives.

7. Ensure the accuracy of the risk rating system.

8. Develop and implement systems, risk controls and policies and procedures in line with regulatory requirements, institution policies and targets.

9. Monitor and manage institution’s portfolio and communicate performance and concerns to top management.

10. Contribute to the growth of the credit union and member satisfaction by assisting members in resolving lending related problems. Always handle member complaints and problems in a tactful and courteous manner at all times.

11. Promote and develop new business for the financial institution.

12. Develop and manage an annual budget for the Lending Department.

13. Keep abreast of industry standards through continuing education and conferences.

14. Other duties as assigned pertaining to the position.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

1. Bachelor’s degree in finance or related studies

2. 5 years of experience - at least 2 years in a management position

3. Extensive leadership, supervisory and managerial experience

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  1. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  2. Must possess excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  3. Must possess the ability to work well under pressure and be capable of working in a tactful, diplomatic and effective manner with members, all levels of credit union personnel, professionals serving the credit union and external auditors and regulators.
  4. Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  5. Responsible for abiding and complying with the policy for compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act and anti-money laundering laws and regulations (BSA/AML) and the policy for compliance with office of foreign assets control laws and regulations (OFAC).

5. Frequently communicates with customers who have inquiries about our loan options or their loans. Must be able to exchange accurate information.
