IMTT is Hiring a Gauger Near Rose, LA

Overview

The Gauger is responsible for safely conducting operational transfers of products throughout the terminal. This position resides at the St. Rose and Avondale terminal.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain product gauges and temperatures
  • Make product transfer line-ups for all types of products
  • Load and unload tank trucks
  • Blow and pig lines
  • Maintain operation information, such as, rate sheets, as directed by Shift Foreman
  • Assist Inspectors/Surveyors in field operations
  • Serve as Dock Operator as assigned
  • Squeegee
  • Perform all duties as assigned by Shift Foreman or Assistant Foreman
  • Maintain tapes, bobs, thermometers, thermoprobes and perform required accuracy tests
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all pumps and pipelines
  • Work railcars as assigned

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must have experience in the petrochemical industry
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Credentials) for access to IMTT’s terminal locations.

  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills in the English language.
  • Ability to understand written and verbal communication in the English language.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to work closely with others with a positive attitude and a willingness to help others. 
  • Ability to represent IMTT in a professional and positive manner.
  • Compliance with all Company policies and procedures.
  • Ability to interact with vendors, service providers, and employees in a professional and courteous manner.

Hours of Work

  • Typical hours of operation require this position to work at night, on weekends, and holidays on a regular rotating shift. This is a 12-hour position.
  • Must be willing to work on an unscheduled basis.
  • This position requires the ability to work rotating shifts and perform overtime as needed, with occasional weekend work as job duties demand.
  • Occasional travel may be necessary, sometimes with little or no advance notice.

  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Because the facility and adjoining facilities handle hazardous materials, the employee must be able to ingress and egress in foreseeable emergencies. The applicant must be able to work safely without presenting a direct threat to self or others.
  • The large scale of the operation and the extensive layout of the facility require that the employee have the ability to walk and stand on uneven terrain, to climb stairs and ladders, and traverse inclines: uphill, downhill or mixed. Because the facility and adjoining facilities handle hazardous materials, the applicant must be able to ingress and egress in foreseeable emergencies. The applicant must be able to work safely without presenting a direct threat to self or others.
  • Ability to work with chemicals, high temperatures, high pressures, over water, at height as well as climb and lift. Must be capable of wearing respirator and/or other PPE during some operations or emergencies.
