PPG Industries is Hiring a Production Supervisor - 2nd Shift Near Rock Hill, SC
Supervise and train production personnel and coordinates activities in some of the Aerosol, Labeling, Epoxy, and Batch Making Departments. Supervise the work performance of employees in their department(s). Perform supervisory responsibilities observing PPG procedures, and applicable laws. You will be interviewing, hiring and training employees, planning, assigning and directing work, and appraising performance, rewarding and providing corrective action to employees, and addressing issues to resolve problems.
Responsibilities
- Interpret specifications from batch tickets and assigns duties to departmental staff.
- Work with Production Manager and Quality Manager to ensure the safety, quality, and performance of their shift.
- Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of products. Revise production schedules and priorities due to any equipment operating problems, staffing concerns.
- Track and maintain labor hours and approve timecards.
- Analyze production issues (i.e. downtime analysis) and work with management on resolution.
- Responsible for the daily scheduling to ensure staffing to produce select products.
Qualifications
- High school diploma, or General Education Diploma, (G.E.D). One (1) year of college/university/technical education.
- 3 or more years of related training; or combination of education and experience.
- Deal with a variety of concrete variables.
