Brighton Surgery Center’s main service is ophthalmology. The Registered Nurse in the Operating Room will provide optimum patient care based on assessment of patients physical and psychosocial needs. He/she will provide a positive and professional atmosphere so as to enhance the patient’s surgical experience and provide for the smooth functioning of BSC.

Duties and Responsibilities for the Operating Room RN include but are not exclusive to:

· Perform circulating and/or scrub duties as assigned.

· Maintain a continuing awareness of individual patient needs, both physical and psychosocial, and strive to meet those needs.

· Provide for proper handling and care of equipment and supplies. Strong knowledge of aseptic technique, creating and maintaining a sterile field.

· Responsible for patient safety during perioperative event.

· Documentation of implanted devices.

· Documentation using EMR.

Experience/Educational Requirements:

Currently registered to practice professional nursing in New York State, Current License. CNOR certification desirable. Previous 3-5 years of operating room experience desirable.
