Reporting To: Production Manager

Compensation: $55,000 - $70,000 / year

Description

Aeriz is searching for a full-time Packaging Supervisor - for our state-of-the-art indoor aeroponic cannabis production facility in Riverbank, CA. 
Position Overview: 
We are seeking for a skilled and detailed orientated cannabis Packaging Supervisor to oversee all aspects of packaging operations within our cannabis facility. As the packaging Supervisor, you will be responsible for packaging of flower, prerolls, concentrates, and edibles. Ensuring compliance with regulations, optimizing packaging processes, and maintaining quality standards.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:
Supervise the entire packaging process from start to finish, ensuring efficiency, consistency, and adhering to compliance and quality standards.
Lead and supervise a team of packaging technicians, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure efficient and effective packaging operation. 
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align packaging processes with overall business goals. 
Develop and implement SOPs for all packaging processes, including material handiling, equipment operations.
Train packaging staff on SOPs to ensure compliance and consistency in packaging.
Create production schedules for packaging activities. Coordinate packaging tasks to meet production targets and deadlines. 
Supervise packaging team members, including hiring, training, and performance reviews. Foster a positive work environment and promote teamwork. 
Oversee inventory levels of packaging materials and coordinate with inventory to ensure adequate supply levels.
Utilize the ERP system to manage packaging materials, track usage, and generate reports. 
Ensuring accurate recording of packaging transactions and maintaining data integrity within the ERP system.
Implement and maintain rigorous quality control measures to ensure that all packaged products meet company standards and regulatory requirements. 
Stay up to date with all relevant cannabis packaging regulations and ensure compliance with local, state, and federals laws. 
Coordinate maintenance and repairs for packaging equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
Establish relevant KPIs for packaging operations, such as packaging waste reduction, production efficiency, and on-time delivery.
Monitor KPIs regularly and implement strategies to improve performance and optimize packaging processes. 
Enforce safety protocols and procedures to create a safe working environment for packaging team members. 
Continuously evaluating and improving packaging processes to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance productivity. 
Maintain accurate records of packaging activities, including production volumes, inventory levels, and quality control measures.
Develop and maintain comprehensive BOMs for packaging materials, including specification, quantities, and cost.
Collaborate with inventory to ensure timely delivery of packaging materials and update BOMs as needed. 
Maintain a clean and organized pre-roll area. Follow sanitation protocols to prevent contamination.

Qualifications

Qualifications:
Associate degree or equivalent required. Additional education or training in cannabis cultivation, processing, or related fields preferred.
 Minimum of 3 years of experience in cannabis processing, or manufacturing, with specific experience in packaging cannabis products preferred.
Deep understanding of cannabis strains, genetics, and processing techniques, as well as familiarity with packaging and labeling equipment.
Proficiency in establishing and enforcing SOPs for packaging processes.
 Familiarity with cannabis regulations and compliance requirements, including METRC or similar seed-to-sell tracking systems.
Strong understanding of BOMs practices. 
Proficient in Microsoft office suite and cannabis specific software for tracking inventory, processing data, and compliance. 
Proven experience in packaging, with expertise in packaging processes within an ERP system. 
Strong leadership skills with the ability to efficiently supervise and motivate a team.
Genuine passion for the cannabis industry, including a commitment to quality, sustainability, and responsible cultivation and processing practices.
Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality products consistently.
Excellent problem-solving abilities with the capacity to troubleshoot issues and implement effective solutions.
Clear and effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with team members, vendors, and regulatory agencies. 
Experience developing and monitoring KPIs related to packaging operations.
Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. 
Available to work weekends, holidays, and night shifts as needed. 
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, reach, bend, climb, stretch, and lift up to 30 pounds. Requires the manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment and hand tools.
Work Environment:
This position can involve a fair amount of manual labor when needed, which requires repetitive tasks. This position operates indoors which can reach different temperatures. This position may require working at heights up to or exceeding 10 feet. The Production Department operates on weekends and holidays, and standard work hours may apply regardless of day or season.
