Synectics Inc. is Hiring an Environmental Specialist Near River Rouge, MI
- Ensure our compliance with federal, state, and local regulations at a power plant facility.
- Complete field environmental inspections of waste, water, and air systems.
- Maintain environmental management systems and plans that identify the location of hazardous sites, chemical inventories, and complaint investigations.
- Implement spill prevention programs and hazardous waste regulations.
- Develop and recommend solutions to eliminate pollution and environmental hazards.
- Collect samples of waste, soil, and water
- Act as the power plant's liaison for environmental compliance concerns.
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or relevant fields.
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role (power plant technician or engineering experience or environmental compliance)
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements, interpretations, and health and safety programs.
- Aptitude to solve problems quickly with advanced conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Outstanding analytical abilities.
- Qualified expert or engineer with a passion for environmental and natural sciences.
- An aptitude to understand and interpret data.

Technical Certification Bonus: Synectics is pleased to award its employees a bonus of up to $500 for an approved professional certification. In determining the bonus amount, Synectics will consider the cost of the test(s) for any certification relating to your current position, achieved during your employment with us. Only one Certification Bonus per calendar year may be awarded per employee. Only current, active employees will be eligible to receive this bonus. It will be awarded 90 days after the Synectics office has received documentation confirming the successful completion of the certification.
