Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Librarian to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about providing library services to the youth, tweens and teens in a public library setting and supporting the community through various programs and resources.

Duties:
-Manages the daily operations of Youth Services to ensure the highest quality service.

-Oversees the development and implementation of all programs and outreach efforts for youth aged 0 – 18.

-Maintains a welcoming, helpful library atmosphere for patrons and colleagues.

-Creates library promotional materials and displays.

-Evaluates and selects materials for children and teens to ensure the availability of a well-rounded, current collection.

-Plans, executes, and evaluates a wide variety of on- and off-site programs for children, teens, and/or their caregivers to heighten library visibility, market the library and its resources, and/or meet community needs.

-Cultivates and maintains relationships within the community, including schools, other town departments and outside organizations, to strengthen the Youth Services program.

-Promotes the library, its materials, programs and services via press releases, social media, public speaking, and other forms of written and oral communication.

-Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:
-MLS or MLS candidate
- Strong knowledge of library services and procedures
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Time management skills
- Experience working with children
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patron interactions

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.50 - $18.50 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
