The Junior Technical Writer works closely with subject matter experts to gather information, writing/revising clear and concise technical documents, and ensuring documentation accuracy and usability for customers and internal team.

• Writes and updates existing technical documentation including standard operating procedures, manuals, policies, and instructions.
• Plays a vital role in creating/revising technical documentation for our products and services.
• Performs duties under the supervision of a subject matter expert or department manager.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather information and understand technical concepts related to products, processes, and systems.
• Organize and structure complex technical information into clear, concise, and user-friendly content for various audiences.
• Ensure documentation adheres to company style guides, templates, and standards for clarity, consistency, and branding.
• Review and edit documentation for grammar, punctuation, and technical accuracy, incorporating feedback from stakeholders and SMEs.
• Work with cross functional teams, such as product managers, developers, and quality assurance engineers, to gather information and validate technical content.
• Assist in creating visual aids such as diagrams, screenshots, and videos to enhance the clarity and effectiveness of technical documentation.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education/Experience

Bachelor's degree in English, Technical Writing, or related field a plus. 

Second year or higher English or Technical Writing major desired.

2 years technical writing/editing experience will substitute for college experience.

Skills/Abilities/Knowledge

Excellent writing, communication, and listening skills required.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly and understandably.

Familiarity with technical writing tools such as Microsoft Word, and Adobe. Intermediate to advanced in Microsoft Word, Adobe, and Excel required.

Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality, accurate documentation within established timelines.

Eagerness to learn and grow in the field of technical writing, with a proactive attitude towards skill development and continuous improvement.

Physical and Working Conditions

Works in an office environment with potential of visiting production facility. For production facility visits, potential exposure to standard manufacturing equipment hazards if proper safety procedures are not followed.

Ability to perform sedentary to light work, non-repetitive up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly, repetitive; performing such activities as lifting, lowering, carrying, pushing, pulling, standing, walking, grasping, kneeling, stooping, reaching.
