Jan Pro Northern Illinois Sales is Hiring an Outside Sales Representative Near Ridge, IL

For the 15th consecutive year, JAN-PRO Cleaning & Disinfecting is the #1 Commercial Cleaning Franchise as reported in the 2023 Entrepreneur Magazine rankings. JAN-PRO of Northern Illinois is looking to hire an Outside Sales Representative to join the team. This position is based in our Burr Ridge, Illinois office.

POSITION SCOPE: Developing a sales territory centered around/in the Chicago area, the Outside Sales Representative is responsible for meeting individual Account Sales Objectives. This will involve quoting and closing new clients, generating information pertinent to the market, information involving accounts and competitors, meeting individual quotas and the performance requirements relating to individual and group objectives, as identified by the Sales Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Attains individual and group Sales objectives
  • Provides regular updates and information relating to daily activities and account status to the Sales Manager
  • Works in cooperation with the Sales Manager to help achieve individual objectives
  • Works with the Sales Manager to develop reports for tracking established objectives and reports to indicate levels of individual and group achievement
  • Develops and maintains economic and market information documentation
  • Analyzes, collates and presents information related to current market conditions and competition as requested by the Sales Manager
  • Establishes and maintains accurate prospect and customers records
  • Cooperates and coordinates start-up of new accounts with the franchise development team
  • Prepares and/or reviews new business proposals with accuracy and professionalism
  • Makes recommendations to Sales Manager relating to effective sales methods and techniques
  • Works with the franchise development team to build short and long term relationships with accounts and franchisees
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

PREREQUISITE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EDUCATION:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2 years previous experience in sales, telemarketing or administration in sales department
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
  • Clear and pleasant telephone manner
  • Knowledge of MS Office products to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Proficient in the use of the Internet
  • Ability to document detailed and accurate prospect and client information in electronic database

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to function in high-pressure situations
  • Manual dexterity to operate a computer and other electronic devices
  • Ability to take legible hand-written notes where necessary
  • Correctable vision and hearing
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Clear, easy to understand oral communication ability
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs.

ENVIRONMENTAL EXPOSURE:

  • Air conditioned/heated office environment
  • Exposure to artificial interior lighting
  • Low to medium level noise
  • Exposure to hazards as typically found in office products and equipment
