Overview:The Chaplain supports participants on their healing journey by ensuring their spiritual and religious needs are met. You'll foster faith-based and spiritual connections within Concordance and in the community to promote the spiritual wellbeing of participants and their loved ones.
Your role will involve:
- Providing pastoral care and spiritual services:
- Facilitating spiritual base groups and 1:1 sessions with participants using evidence-informed manualized interventions
- Coordinating and integrating post-release pastoral care services for participants within a multidisciplinary environment
- Arranging and delivering spiritual direction and education to participants and their loved ones
- Supporting ritual and sacramental needs of participants
- Supporting spiritual care of Concordance team members, including secondary trauma
- Collaborating with the multi-disciplinary care team and community:
- Connecting participants and their families with community faith organizations
- Documenting sessions (for individuals and groups), including noteworthy participant interactions
- Participating in internal meetings (Behavioral Health and Wellness team meetings, All Team meetings, 1:1 supervisor meetings, and training sessions)
- Passion for our mission
- Ability to resolve conflicts in crisis situations, redirect and set boundaries, and work with a diverse team
- Collaborative attitude and excitement about working in a multi-disciplinary environment
- Flexibility and adaptability to balance priorities
- Effective communication skills with the broader care team and community stakeholders
- Commitment to professionalism, integrity, and compassion in all interactions
- Master's Degree of Divinity, Theology, or related field
- Ordination or vocational recognition by an established religious group
- Clinical training in Chaplaincy (Clinical Pastoral Education)
- Two years' experience in a Chaplain role
- Experience working with justice-involved adults or other vulnerable populations
- CPR / Adult First Aid certification preferred
