The Speech-Language Pathologist evaluates patients with speech, language, and swallowing disorders to restore, improve, or maintain the patient’s optimal level of functioning, independence, and quality of life. Education, counseling, and instructing in use of devices and techniques are modalities used to improve functional communication.

Education: Masters Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited educational program.
Experience: None required. Preference may be given to individuals with advanced clinical experience or skills.
CERTIFICATION: Must be fully certified in Indiana to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist. May work with a Temporary Permit without license in accordance with Indiana regulations. Must maintain active CPR certification. Must hold Certificate of Clinical Competence (C.C.C.) Awarded by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association or in the process of completing the Clinical Fellowship Year (C.F.Y.). Additionally, if assigned to provide services in Ohio, the SLP is required to hold a current Ohio license.
