Empire is Hiring a CAD Specialist Near Richland, WA

Location: Hanford Site, WA

Department: Engineering

Reports to: Engineering Automation Supervisor

Position Overview:

Are you a talented and driven CAD Specialist looking to make a significant impact on a major Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) project? We are seeking a dedicated professional to join our team at the Hanford Site. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting and enhancing our engineering automation processes. Key Responsibilities:

  • Support & Development: Assist in the development, review, administration, testing, configuration, and implementation of project tasks.
  • Data Integration: Apply your knowledge of 3D modeling and P&ID to integrate data with commercial software solutions.
  • Team Collaboration: Coordinate with technical team members in information systems, automation, and engineering, ensuring seamless integration of engineering tools.
  • Artifact Production: Create artifacts to convey data integration and management activities for review and coordination.
  • User Training: Train project users on engineering software and related work processes, enhancing overall project efficiency.
  • Project Management: Organize and accomplish assigned tasks within established budgets and schedules.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or drafting/design with 9 years of experience in piping design utilizing 2D/3D CAD systems.
  • Technical Expertise:
  • Proficient in CAD design and drafting techniques.
  • Hands-on experience with database systems such as Microsoft Access, Oracle, and SQL Server.
  • Skilled in integrating data between disparate systems and various data types (structured, unstructured, documents).
  • General knowledge of engineering/scientific systems, calculations, applications, and relevant computer applications.
  • Industry Knowledge: Basic understanding of industry and regulatory standards, design criteria, and codes relevant to the discipline.
  • Compliance: Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical (if located at the construction site), and background check including verification of employment and education.
  • Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy badge for access to the Hanford Site.
  • Citizenship: US Citizenship Required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Software Proficiency: Experience with Bentley OpenPlant, Smart3D, or any 3D CAD modeling software.
  • Engineering Experience: Design production engineering experience.
  • Quality Standards Knowledge: Familiarity with ASME NQA-1 and DOE O 414.1C standards related to software development and quality.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $34.00 - $37.00 per hour
