The Donohoe Companies is Hiring a Building Engineer Near Reston, VA
Major Duties
- Perform daily, weekly and monthly inspections of systems and associated equipment
- Perform preventative and general maintenance on a scheduled basis
- Maintain equipment to industry standards
- Interface with building manager and other customer representatives in order to ensure client satisfaction
- Complete daily, weekly and/or monthly reports of system status as directed by supervisor
- Purchase materials and supplies, and maintain inventory as required for timely work completion
- Prepare and distribute daily, weekly and monthly reports of system status and work completed
- Operate and maintain HVAC, electrical and security systems and associated hardware and equipment as directed
- Prepare predictive maintenance on assigned equipment in order to prevent breakdowns and/or outages
- Accurately document work performed on tickets and/or work orders
- Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience operating, and maintaining commercial buildings in the last 5 years
- Experienced in building operations, troubleshooting is essential
- Equipment - air cooled chiller, hot water boilers, vav boxes
- Must have computer skills
- Able to perform PM maintenance on all mechanical equipment
- Requires reliable transportation
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Hands on equipment experience including, but not limited to changing filters, grease bearings, repairing flush valves, stop valves, change ballast/light bulbs
- Excellent customer service skills
- NAPE classes or equivalant
