The Role

Seer is seeking Software Test Engineer to test and qualify Seer’s instrument software products, primarily focused on testing instrument software, with future opportunity to work on data analysis software. You will collaborate with multiple product development and support teams including automation, system validation and customer support. The ideal candidate will have relevant software test engineering experience in both automation and manual testing and a track record of accomplishments in the life sciences and the biotechnology industry. The successful candidate is expected to have a background in computer science or computer engineering with at least 5 years industry experience.

This role is based at Seer HQ in Redwood City (Redwood Shores), California.

Responsibilities

• Understand product requirements and specifications.
• Develop and execution of test cases, test results aggregation and reporting.
• Implement test automation.
• Work with a team software engineers on automation of existing Software tests as well as newly identified tests.
• Write software design verification and regression test cases.
• Perform functional testing at integration and system levels.
• Develop understanding of user workflow and requirement specifications to create, document, and execute test plans.
• Troubleshoot software anomalies.
• Author technical documents (protocols, reports, standard operating procedures) to comply with regulatory requirements.
• Develop and maintain high-quality, reusable automated tests to ensure robustness and efficiency in our products.
• Efficiently triage and resolve bugs, utilizing JIRA and other suitable tools to gather comprehensive details for effective debugging and resolution.
• Manage and track issues diligently, ensuring timely documentation and escalation for effective resolution.
• Foster inclusive relationships through active partnership and collaboration with diverse teams.

Qualifications

• BS in any of the following computer science, software engineering, electrical engineering, or mathematics degree required.
• Must have 3 years of current automated testing experience on a stand-alone device/instrument.
• Manual testing experience.
• Experience with automated testing, preferably development of large automated test suites for C# .NET Framework applications and web applications.
• Experience with testing of medical devices subject to FDA 21 CFR 820, IEC 62304 and ISO 13485 compliance
• Experienced in software verification and validation strategies.
• Proficient with identifying and writing up and categorization of software defects.
• Experience with Windows based medical device systems.
• Experienced in Implementing test processes, write test plans/cases, procedures and scripts, and analyzes test results.
• Proficiency in software programming and scripting skills, preferably in Javascript and Python.
• Knowledge of AWS services and infrastructure, including EC2, S3 and IAM
• Desire to automate everything and reduce manual testing time.
• Experience working in an agile environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Must work well in a team environment, be highly motivated, and willing to learn new skills.
• Good communications and documentation skills, including experience in writing SOPs, work instructions, training and other relevant documentation.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams including product development, systems engineering and production.
