New Priorities Family Services is Hiring a Mental Health Counselor Near Redmond, OR

This position includes the opportunity to work with a range of clientele. NPFS offers/encourages in-person therapy. Telehealth therapy is available. We are looking for gifted, experienced, and caring counselors who want to encourage and empower lasting change in youth, adults and families who are struggling with mental health disorders.

Job Summary

Under direct supervision of the Program Director, clinical supervisor, the mental health counselor assumes responsibility for providing mental health services for individuals and their families. Counselors will assess the individual to identify the needs of the client in order to provide support and services. Counselors will work with community partners, plan, utilize case management and coordination of resources for their clients and their families. Counselor will develop a treatment plan that is based on the individual client and that provides a treatment setting in order to develop coping and communication skills and decision making skills that will allow individuals and their families to grow and develop into healthy, happy, successful and contributing members of their community.

Qualifications
  • Desire to help others in a caring, professional manner.
  • Masters degree in a social services field
  • Familiar with evidence based interventions
  • Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check
  • Be a team player
  • Experience &/or training in providing trauma therapy, family therapy, group therapy, clinical assessment, and DSM 5 diagnoses, developing treatment plans.

As a co-occurring program, NPFS supports NPFS staff to obtain dual certification/licensure if interested and provides supervision, training, and helps with certification/licensure fees.

Licensed or working towards licensure (LPC, LMFT, LCSW) counselors are encouraged to apply and duties might include opportunity to supervise mental health counselors for NPFS with wages or contract work available.

Schedule

Openings are available for part time or full time. 8- 10 hr shifts are determined by the counselor and director.

Wages

Dependant on training, experience. Stipends available for interns.
